An award-winning screenwriter and director from West Bengal, India. He has won the Promising Filmmaker and Inspirational Director for his film 'Dose'. 'Dialog' won Best Music Video, Best Human rights film, and many awards and accolades from over 50 festivals worldwide. The infatuation with the art and science of photography in his father's darkroom nurtured within him a knack for storytelling through paintings, poems, stories, and films. After graduating in English Literature, he moved to Mumbai to pursue his passion for Cinema studies. Starting his career as a photographer, Souvik has graced multiple hats from being a copywriter, and scriptwriter, to becoming a successful show format developer and TV show director. As an independent creator, he aspires to bring stories in their rawest form possible. He believes in bringing sharp commentaries and observations through his original photographs, scripts, and films. He desires to maintain a golden equilibrium of form and content in his endeavors. The politics behind bringing such stories that are underrepresented in mainstream media is to create noise and create a ripple impact on society for good. Souvik’s works have won appreciation in both screenplay writing and direction. His short films and screenplays have been honored in over fifty film festivals worldwide, winning multiple accolades, awards, and distribution deals. His latest experiments lie in blockchain technologies and interactive storytelling formats.
